Exfoliating your skin is so important. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells from the epidermis, the top layer of your skin, allowing your skin to breathe. Looking after your skin can be easy, and with daily exposure to the elements, having healthy skin is what you deserve. Shedding your dead epidermis skin cells and regenerating new ones is a natural process, but it is important to give your body a helping hand to get the absolute best results possible.

This page contains a comprehensive guide on everything you need to know about exfoliating your skin, including answers to the following questions:

How Often Should you Exfoliate your Skin?

As you age, your skin cell regeneration slows down leading to dead cells that can make the skin look jaded, dull and lifeless. Regular gentle exfoliation of your face and body improves your skin’s texture and helps to regenerate new cells and natural collagen. The end result is a healthy, radiant look to your skin leading to a feeling of general well being.

Ultimately only you can decide how often to exfoliate as it hugely depends on the condition of your skin, but as a general rule 2-3 times a week should be quite sufficient for most people. If you have sensitive skin you may wish to reconsider this and adapt to suit your individual requirements.

How Often Should you Exfoliate your Face?

Similarly to exfoliating your body, you should also exfoliate your face about twice a week, also depending on the condition and sensitivity of your skin.

How Should I Exfoliate?

There are several different ways of exfoliating, but the golden rule is to exfoliate gently and avoid any hard scrubbing. We have come up with a step by step guide for how you should exfoliate when using each of our body and face exfoliating accessories.

Exfoliating Using our Natural Bristle Brush

Step 1: Rinse your body in the shower.

Step 2: Turn the shower off and rub our Moisturising shower gel on your body and place some on the exfoliating brush.

Step 3: In a circular motion massage your skin with your Exfoliating brush, being sure not to press too hard.

Step 4: After you have used the brush all over your skin, creating a good foam, turn your shower back on and rinse the foam off by continuing to gently massage your body with the exfoliating brush.

Step 5: After getting out of the shower and drying your body, apply our Moisturising body lotion to you skin to avoid any irritation.

Note: We do not recommend using this type of brush on your face or other sensitive areas of the body.
